A dreamy mountain backdrop
Spring in Tucson is special. Tucson, and the surrounding areas are a desert, by all definitions, but what makes this area unique is that it's a lush desert. Here, the desert comes alive in the spring, and after the winter rain we had this year, the greens were vibrant!
I met Jo at a hair salon. One difficultly of moving around, is having to find a new person to cut your hair, but I definitely lucked out when I found Jo! We talked throughout our entire session and I shared that I was a photographer, and she happened to be in the market for updated family photos. While discussing different locations, Catalina State Park came up, and I am incredibly happy we chose it! The family outfits coordinated beautifully and fit perfectly with the surrounding area. It's giving..... Sound of Music, but desert edition, and I am here for it.
This family had so much fun together and even brought their pup to get in on the action! We captured incredible images and I still cannot get over how majestic the mountains looked. For those that might not know where the park is, it's on the north side of the Catalina Mountain range; one of the many beautiful ranges surrounding Tucson. I am fortunate to look at Mount Lemmon almost daily living in Vail, and have dubbed Catalina State Park the 9th wonder of the world, the backside of Mount Lemmon. (Yes, that is most definitely a play on the Jungle Cruise joke.)
